Despite not being able to attend SBS’s Inkigayo due to ‘SMTOWN Live in New York’ concert on Sunday, SNSD presented their comeback performances of ‘Mr. Taxi’ and ‘The Boys’ through a pre-recorded performance.
During the first comeback stage of ‘Mr Taxi’, SNSD wore outfits that resembled police officers’ uniforms and their dynamic performance attracted a lot of attention. Repetitive lyrics like ‘Taxi’ and ‘Jeuk-shi’ (instant) are especially addictive.
SNSD then performed their next stage with their new song, ‘The Boys’. Members performed with outfits and hairstyles that match their unique characteristics. The integration of the dynamic dance steps into the strong music and beats, made viewers exclaim with admiration.
Netizens who watched the performance commented, “It’s happy to see SNSD coming back”, “Seems that they’re becoming more and more sexy”, “They have drastic changes in the style of music” etc. Credit: asiatoday.co.kr + [email protected] Translated by: [email protected]Also, Inkigayo aired a video of Taeyeon, Jessica, Sunny, Hyoyeon and Seohyun singing along to the “Egg Song”. On October 22nd, on her personal Me2day account, Kan MiYeon wrote, “I finally met SNSD. The girls are indeed pretty. Even the album is really pretty too! Hwaiting!~”.
Along with the message, she attached a photo of herself with a copy of SNSD’s 3rd album ‘The Boys’. The photo was probably taken after her performance as she still has the full make-up on.

If you have tried watching the English version of "The Boys", you might have encountered a message saying that the uploader has not made this video available for your country. Fret not, you can now watch it on Girls' Generation VEVO, it is SNSD's own VEVO Channel. VEVO is a join Venture among Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, and Abu Dhabi Media with EMI licensing its content to the group without taking any ownership stake. It offers music videos from three of the "big four" major label records. Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment and EMI.

The girls are finally bringing “The Boys” out. Girls’ Generation’s third album is released, and with it comes a special English version of their title track. Girls’ Generation is officially entering the American market by signing with Interscope Records, and one of the best ways to support the girls in their new territory is to do everything we can to get them on top of the Billboard chart. Billboard is the official music chart of the United States. Everybody in the music industry pays attention to it. Billboard provides many different charts to track artists and their successes, such as Hot 100, Billboard 200, Digital Songs, Radio Songs, and various genre charts. Billboard 200 is specifically for albums, and physical copies will play a large role in charting there, so once the maxi single gets released we can shoot for a place on that chart. Hot 100, Digital Songs, and Radio Songs are tailored for singles, and this is where “The Boys” can make a huge splash and gain some attention in the US, since there will be an English language single. Billboard collects its sales data through Nielsen Soundscan and its radio play impressions from Nielsen BDS. Every major record label reports to Nielsen, as well as every major retailer such as Best Buy. Many online retailers report to Nielsen, with Amazon.com being far and away the biggest. Radio play is tricky in the United States. It’s a big country and there are hundreds of radio stations. Pretty much all of them are going to report to Nielsen, but the trick is getting them to play “The Boys”. Of course, if you live in the US, you can call your local radio station and request the song to be played. Some markets are very large though, so we can have an easier time getting their attention. Here are some of the major radio stations in the country and their websites, Twitter ID’s, and Facebook pages, where we can send them messages to let them know how awesome Girls’ Generation and “The Boys” are, and that they should hurry up and play the song already. Additionally, Nielsen tracks Internet radio, so if you stream from an Internet radio site like Aol Radio, Yahoo Radio, or the radio station’s website, and they play “The Boys”, it counts. - 102.7 KIISFM Los Angeles, @1027KIISFM, Facebook- Z100 New York, @Z100NewYork, Facebook- B96Radio Chicago, @B96Radio, Facebook- Kiss108FM Boston, @Kiss108, Facebook- Star94FM Atlanta, @star941atlanta, Facebook- Hot95.7FM Houston, @HOT957, FacebookInternet Radio: - Aol Radio, @AOLRadio, Facebook- Yahoo Radio, @yahoo_musicAnother great site for streaming radio from various stations across the country is Radio.com. From here you can select Music and Pop/Top 40 to stream from a variety of different markets. If you subscribe to Satellite radio, SiriusXM has a great way to reach a large audience with their Hits1 channel. Viewers can vote for the songs and artists they want to hear. Their show is on Facebook and Twitter, @SiriusXMHits1. You can also call in at 877-MY-HITS-1 (877-694-4871) and email them at [email protected]. New songs appear on the “Hit-Bound” poll on the right side of their webpage when you scroll down, and you can vote for them there. Also, you can vote under the Top Picks and actually write “Girls’ Generation – The Boys” in on the poll(Unconfirmed if this works, the poll may be broken at the moment). There are a few nationally syndicated radio shows that have incredibly large audiences, and if “The Boys” gets airplay on those shows, that’s when we will start seeing some real results. The most important show is On Air with Ryan Seacrest which is based out of the LA station above, 102.7 KIISFM. He has an immense following and is plugged into the popular culture. If Ryan Seacrest plays “The Boys”, the rest will follow. Ryan is on Twitter, @RyanSeacrest and on Facebook. His radio show is @OnAirWithRyan, and it airs weekdays from 5am-10am Pacific Time. You can stream the show live on his website. Additionally, there is a thread on Soshified for easily requesting the song on many different radio stations through Mediabase. Make sure to check it out and request “The Boys”. Finally, purchasing “The Boys” online as a digital single counts directly for charts like Hot 100 and Digital Songs. It’s extremely easy, just buy the song! You can purchase it on iTunes and Amazon. Digital sales are going to be extremely important until the physical album is released in the US. Once the maxi single is released, buying from stores such as Best Buy and Amazon are going to be the quickest and easiest ways for all SONEs to help the girls climb the chart. Until then, digital, digital, digital. The Billboard Hot 100 chart can be found here. By clicking on “Charts” you can access the other charts that Billboard has. Hot 100 is a very important chart in the US. We can definitely get the girls up there if we try to get as much radio play as possible and we buy a lot of digital copies of the single. Since the girls are signed with Interscope, we can expect some radio play simply from them marketing the song, however it is up to SONEs to spread the word on Twitter and Facebook and to actually buy the song. A top 40 hit is definitely possible. Lets give our girls that gift.
