After winning the ‘Artist of the Year Award’ at the 2011 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), Girls’ Generation had a press conference at Cassia Junior Ballroom on the 3rd floor of the Sands Expo and Convention Center.
During the interview, Taeyeon said, “Currently, our Asian tour is in progress. There will be a lot of concerts and performances next year too. We have been really busy preparing for our unique concept during the end of this year to show you our new appearances”.
Taeyeon added, “If there is an opportunity coming our way, we would like to have a world tour after completing the Asian tour. We would like to meet more people”.
About the 2011 MAMA, Sooyoung commented, “As it was already an honor to attend the award ceremony itself, we are really happy to win one of the 3 biggest awards, the ‘Artist of the Year Award’”.

In the November 26th episode of KBS2TV’s “Invincible Youth 2”, G8 held a “Giant Maknae’s Daebudo Talk Show! Hello G8 Problem Solver” with Suzy and Kang Jiyoung as MCs. In the 2011 MelOn Music Awards held on November 24th at the Seoul Olympic Gymnasium Arena, Girls’ Generation received the newly-established award, ’2011 Global Artist Award’.
Despite not being able to attend the award ceremony in person, Girls’ Generation pre-recorded a video to express their appreciation.
The girls made their speech in a cute manner by saying, “Thank you for giving the ’2011 Global Artist Award’ to Girls’ Generation! Is this an award for singers who made it to the worldwide market?”
They continued, “We’re regretful that we cannot attend the award ceremony but we are happy to conclude the year by receiving an award from the ’2011 MelOn Music Awards’. Recently, K-pop fever is spreading to the world and we feel proud as K-pop singers. Thank you!”

On the upcoming November 21st episode of ‘Star Life Theatre’ on KBS2, Seohyun, Yuri and Sooyoung will be revealing their college lives, close friendships with their friends, as well as their strong will towards their studies.
