Following the huge success of SMTOWN LIVE in Paris on the 10th and 11th of June, MBC released their coverage of the first ever SMTOWN concert held in Europe. Groups under SM Entertainment such as F(x), SHINee, TVXQ, Super Junior and Girls’ Generation performed a total of 49 songs on both days, and they definitely did not fail to send the European fans into a tizzy.

Unfortunately, due to time constraints, MBC was unable to air all the performances at SMTOWN Paris, and only four Girls’ Generation performances were broadcasted. Nonetheless, fancams of the rest of the songs performed by Girls’ Generation can be found in Soshified’s Video Downloads section and the four performances broadcasted can be found below.

On the 25th of June, Girls' Generation attended the MTV Video Music Aid Japan at Makuhari Messe convention centre, where they performed "Mr. Taxi" and "The Great Escape" on a stage shared by various other popular artists such as SHINee and Lady Gaga. The event was held with hopes of supporting and raising awareness for the Red Cross appeal in light of the recent disaster in Japan.

Today, the much anticipated results for the awards ceremony have been released and broadcasted in multiple countries in Asia such as Malaysia, Singapore and China. Out of the 15 awards, the group's debut Japanese track "Genie" was nominated for 3 categories competing with names such as Justin Bieber, Utada Hikaru, Linkin Park, Avril Lavinge, Kato Miriya, and Ikimonogakari. The group has come through once again, displaying their popularity and winning 2 of their nominated categories, taking home the "Best Group Video" award and "Best Karaokee! Song" award.

The excitement of the event does not end there, as a special program showing backstage footage and comments from staff will be broadcast on July 23rd, and promises to be something not to be missed out on.

SM Entertainment's Lee Soo Man has placed a ban on a couple of Girls' Generation members, and it is becoming a hot topic. Cable channel tvN revealed the bans on "enews" on July 1st. The Girls' Generation members who received the bans are Sooyoung and Yuri. Sooyoung and Yuri were told to refrain from behavior that could damage the elegant and beautiful image that the girls and SM Entertainment have been pushing lately. Sooyoung was told not to do vocal imitations anymore and Yuri was told not to do her special "kkab", or playfulness. (Editor's Note: Non-Girls' Generation parts omitted.) Also, "enews" will reveal the relationship between Girls' Generation and 347,0000,0000 wons on the Friday corner "Hot Topic Search Word Attention Focus". As was mentioned before, MBC broadcast "Feel Good Day" on June 30th in which they interviewed Girls' Generation and talked about their popularity and their Japanese tour.

During the program, "Feel Good Day" also broadcast video from Girls' Generation's trainee days, as well as footage of their auditions and even some of the vintage MBC show "Manwon Happiness" when Yoona was a participant.

Another part of the June 30th "Feel Good Day" broadcast included a few members from fellow SM Entertainment group Super Junior. Heechul, Leeteuk, and Shindong dressed up as Lady Gaga and Beyonce for performances during the "SMTOWN Live in Paris" concert. Before Heechul went up on stage, he said, "I'm prettier than Girls' Generation," while standing next to the girls.

A third part talks about the girls' diet and eating habits. During the program, Sunny said, "People think that we're on diets and only eat a little bit, but we eat so much that it surprises our managers. We're eating regularly and getting enough rest, so you don't have to worry about us." Yoona similarly stated, "We're really doing a good job eating regularly. I don't know where people got the idea that 'Girls' Generation members are on diets'. We're eating well and we're strong." Yuri also said, "The diet that was revealed a while ago was not true. I make sure to eat three meals a day and I enjoy exercising." The "Girls' Generation diet" that the three members are referring to is the one that was revealed at the beginning of this year on SBS's Lunar Near Year Special "What Are Stars Doing?" In it, they stated that Girls' Generation's diet consisted of seasonal greens, five broccoli heads, 100 grams of chicken breast, and 150 grams of brown rice, among other things, to form a 1,500 kilocalorie diet.

SNSD and BoA will be participating in a rock festival in Japan, the ‘Summer Sonic 2011′.

On June 30th, the line-up for the event which includes SNSD and BoA was published on Summer Sonic’s official website. BoA will be the first solo female singer from Korea to attend the prestigious festival.

‘Summer Sonic 2011′ will be held on August 13th and 14th in Tokyo and Osaka where there will be 2 performances for each venue. BoA is scheduled to perform on August 13th in Tokyo alongside Avril Lavigne, Japanese hip-hop group, Rip Slyme, Perfume, etc. SNSD on the other hand will be performing on August 14th in Tokyo as special guests.

Some of the big names who will be making their appearances on ‘Summer Sonic 2011′ are The Strokes, Red Hot Chilipeppers, Panic! At The Disco, Korn, X-Japan, etc.
