Among other stars, SNSD have the best survival rate if they were to be left on an unoccupied island. On KBS 2TV ‘Entertainment Weekly’ aired on June 25th, a survey to find out stars who could survive on an unoccupied island was conducted. From the result of the survey, SNSD were placed at no.1 and there was a valid reason for it. Since they received lots of love from the soldiers, the girls have the support of the soldiers at their disposal. On the other hand, Lee SooGeun from KBS 2TV’s ‘Happy Sunday – 1 Night 2 Days’ took the no.2 spot. Lee SooGeun through his role in ’1 Night 2 Days’, gave a deep impression that he is someone who could thrive well in the wilderness. Actor, Jung JaeYoung who starred in the movie ‘Castaway On The Moon’ (2009) came in 3rd. No HongChul came in 4th for his role in MBC’s ‘Infinity Challenge’ while Park YeJin who made an appearance on SBS ‘Family Outing’ came in 5th. Song, Girls' Generation hit the MTV Video Music Aid Japan red carpet clad in girly pink and black dresses, greeting the media and fans with happy expressions and bright smiles. The group are scheduled to perform two tracks at Makuhari Messe convention centre in Japan's Chiba Prefecture, along with a myriad of other artists such as Lady Gaga and labelmates SHINee. In a recently aired episode of KBS's "Sponge Zero", a survey was done to analyze the trends of different age groups. One of the questions posed was "Which girl group is Yuri from?" The results revealed that 22% of working adults chose Fin.K.L's Sung Yuri while 50% chose COOL's Yuri. It also showed that 100% of university students chose Girls' Generation's Kwon Yuri. Host Lee Hwijae was surprised at the overall outcome and commented that they were increasingly moving towards the future generation. Considering the overwhelming support Girls' Generation received at Hanyang University, it's of no surprise that the girls are so popular among the younger generation. Girls' Generation is set to perform a special performance of two songs including their hit track "MR. TAXI" for the MTV Video Music Aid Japan (VMAJ). The girls will be present along with pop star icon Lady Gaga and top groups like AKB48. Label mate SHINee will also be there to perform as well.
The 9-members girl group has been nominated for Best Group Video, Best Video of the Year, and Best Karaokee! Song for their debut Japanese single, Genie. Many are eagerly anticipating to see if the girls will emerge as winners at the one of the most prestigious music awards show. MTV VMAJ will take place tomorrow on June 25th at Makuhari Messe at the Chiba Prefecture in Japan.
