Girls' Generation were guests on MTV Network Channel's "MTV IGGY" on October 24th (local time). It was broadcasted live over the large MTV screen at New York's Time Square, attracting a large amount of attention from passerbys and fans alike.
That day, members Tiffany and Jessica led the group in the interview with their fluent English.
However, Yoona and Taeyeon, who were sitting in the back row, looked visibly moodier than the other members. While the others laughed or smiled throughout the interview, the two of them consistently stayed quiet, unable to hide their fatigue.
Taeyeon in particular kept her head propped up with her arm and was unable to focus on the interview; Yoona kept her head down in a pose that betrayed her tiredness. Even though they made an effort to smile occasionally, the energy and liveliness so often visible on stage were absent that day.
Fans were surprised at the attitude they displayed. However, it was revealed that Girls' Generation's rigorous schedule and travel between Korea and New York had cause the two of them to come down with a bad cold, leaving them feeling uncomfortable through the interview.
As a result, fans are now voicing their worries, wondering if the girls are neglecting their health in the face of their latest song's promotion -- which is taking place both in Korea and overseas simultaneously.
Meanwhile, title track "The Boys" from their third regular album is sweeping music charts both in Korea and overseas.
