On July 22nd, Hyoyeon and her partner Kim Hyungsuk won first place on “Dancing with the Stars II”, on an episode which showed six teams performing live for the seventh time. The mission for the day was “My Story”, in which the contestants expressed their life stories in dancing.
On that day, Hyoyeon visited the SM Entertainment practice room thinking about her seven years as a trainee and expressed gratitude towards her parents for looking out for her. She thanked them by saying, “I wasn’t sure if I was a good dancer, but my father discovered my talent and suggested I become a singer.”
Furthermore, when she was asked what Girls’ Generation means to her, she replied with a big smile, “Girls’ Generation isn’t like a treasure to me, but a ‘miracle’. I’m still amazed that I’m part of Girls’ Generation.”
However, Hyoyeon also has a lot of worries because there are nine members. When she was asked what are some things that burden her by being part of Girls’ Generation, she replied, “How I can be recognized. It’s hard to have the name ‘Hyoyeon’ publicized in Girls’ Generation.”
She showed more willpower by saying, “I’m glad I can get recognized through ‘Dancing with the Stars II’. I’ll work harder.”
This episode also featured Hyoyeon’s audition clip, in which she showed powerful locking dance moves in her childhood, along with clips of senior artists talking about “Dancing Queen Hyoyeon”.
When Shinhwa’s Lee Minwoo was asked in an interview which girl group he looked upon the most, he replied, “I’m a Girls’ Generation fan, and I always had an interest in Hyoyeon because she danced so well, thinking she could be the next BoA. I’m glad she accomplished her dream.”
Super Junior’s Eunhyuk, who Hyoyeon shared her trainee days with, said, “Hyoyeon danced so well among 100 trainees and stood out the most. I also went to Hyoyeon to learn to dance.”
Unfortunately, Hyoyeon was unable to perform live on “Dancing with the Stars II” due to promotions for “PAPARAZZI” in Japan, but won first place with a pre-recorded segment which showed a combination of her powerful locking and the cha-cha-cha. The Kim Kayoung and Kim Kangsan team sadly was eliminated.
On the June 22nd’s episode of MBC’s ‘Dancing With The Stars 2′, Hyoyeon’s audition videos, as well as testimonies by her seniors will be revealed.
During the interview with the program’s production staff recently, Shinhwa’s Lee Minwoo was asked if there is a girl group that he pays most attention to and he said, “I’m a fan of Girls’ Generation and Hyoyeon particularly, as she is really good at dancing since she was young, I thought of her as the second BoA. Therefore, I’ve been paying attention to her with great interest.” He added, “It’s good to see that Hyoyeon is now living her dream.”
Besides Lee Minwoo, Super Junior’s Eunhyuk who went through his trainee days along with Hyoyeon said, “As Hyoyeon is really good at dancing since she was still a trainee, she stood out among the 100 trainees. I too, looked for Hyoyeon and learned dancing from her,” acknowledging Hyoyeon’s dancing ability.

Hyoyeon’s unexpected character will soon be revealed on KBS 2TV’s ‘Invincible Youth 2′, which will be aired at 11.05pm KST on January 7th.
In this episode, Hyoyeon took up the mission of cleaning and getting the barn ready for the animals. During the recent filming, Hyoyeon built a barn from scratch. Although she was feeling worried throughout the course of building the barn, she was very receptive to the advice and teachings from the village elders who went to visit the under-construction barn.
According to the production crews, Hyoyeon received a ‘compliment’ from the G8 members for her ability and hardwork. They told her, “It was surprisingly well done”.
To this, Hyoyeon replied, “I have put a lot of effort into it. People don’t seem to notice even if I’ve worked hard or done well.”
Whenever she received compliments, Hyoyeon would work even harder and the happy kid in her would be brought out. Even after she hammered her hand accidentally with the hammer, at the words of ‘You are hammering the nails well’, she went on to hammer all the nails in the barn.

During the recording of JTBC’s ‘Girls’ Generation and Dangerous Boys’ recently, an art therapy session which reveals one’s emotions and psychological state through drawings was conducted. Not only the five dangerous boys, Girls’ Generation took part in the psychotherapy as well to evaluate their own emotional and psychological conditions.
The girls and the five boys were all very serious during the course of the therapy. Out of a sudden, Hyoyeon teared up while painting a picture,taking the other members of Girls’ Generation and the staff on set by surprise.
Hyoyeon left the shooting set to calm herself and resumed shooting after that but when the art therapy specialist analyzed and evaluated Hyoyeon’s painting, Hyoyeon could not hold back her tears once again.
Meanwhile, the art therapy session conducted on that day yielded some astounding results. In the November 26th episode of KBS2TV’s “Invincible Youth 2”, G8 held a “Giant Maknae’s Daebudo Talk Show! Hello G8 Problem Solver” with Suzy and Kang Jiyoung as MCs. On this day, Hyoyeon revealed, “It’s very hard to act. I squirm when I act cute and pretty.” She also added, “I was more easy-going. But after becoming part of Girls’ Generation, I didn’t think it was right to keep it that way.” She continued with, “When I monitor our appearances, the members who do aegyo (to act cutely) on air come out the most. Girls' Generation's Jessica related an anecdote where she came close to being hit by groupmate Hyoyeon.
Along with members Taeyeon and Tiffany, Jessica was a guest on the episode of "Golden Fishery - Radio Star" that aired on November 9th. The three girls showed off their wit and skill at talking through the interview.
In that episode, they were discussing the topic of Taeyeon and Tiffany fighting when Jessica interjected, "They always fight over the smallest of things". This prompted the MC to ask, "Have you ever fought with anyone before?"
Jessica answered, "I've fought with Hyoyeon before. I really almost got hit by her. She was sitting in the front seat and I was at the back, when she started to criticize me. So I criticized her back."
The MC then asked, "When you fight, do you say things that can't be broadcasted?" Jessica said, "Like I mentioned, criticisms," making everyone burst out in laughter.
The MC went on to ask more specifically, "Do you curse?" Jessica emphasized, "Just criticisms," making everyone laugh again.

Girl group members were amazed by Hyoyeon’s easy-going and brave personality! Hyoyeon joins KBS 2TV’s ‘Invincible Youth Season 2′ as one of the G8 members.
As the G8 members who had just arrived at a fishing village in Daebu Island on the first day of filming for ‘Invincible Youth Season 2′ greeted the villagers, a village elder asked the girls who had just become the new members of the village to taste the octopus that he just caught.

On November 27th, Jessica, Seohyun, Hyoyeon and Sunny attended a talk session in Mnet’s ‘Wide Open Studio’ in conjunction with their comeback promotion activities. During the talk, as members wrote their own résumé, Jessica stated “Goo Hara” and “Park Min-young” on her personal connection table.
