The recent photos from the shooting session of new KBS Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Love Rain’ in Hokkaido, Japan have indeed garnered a lot of attention and interest from fans.

From a photo taken by a netizen at a shooting set in Hokkaido, YoonA and Jang GeunSuk can be seen standing beside a building with Girls’ Generation’s poster pasted on it. Since the photo was published, there has been a huge interest and anticipation of Girls’ Generation’s ‘appearance’ (the poster) on ‘Love Rain’. From the angle it was captured, it was as if the girls were watching YoonA and Jang GeunSuk’s acting. The fact that Girls’ Generation’s poster was captured so randomly at the shooting set further indicates the girls’ huge popularity in Japan.

Meanwhile, as soon as the teaser video of ‘Love Rain’ was released online, it receives explosive response and has recorded about 30,000 views since. ‘Love Rain’ will be aired starting March 26th after ‘Dream High 2′.

YoonA transforms into a cheerful and energetic girl in the much anticipated new KBS Monday-Tuesday drama ‘Love Rain’.

In ‘Love Rain’ YoonA plays both the simple and smart looking campus goddess, Kim YoonHee of the 1970s and also YoonHee’s daughter, the cheerful and energetic girl of the present day who graduated in the field of agriculture from a university in Japan.

On the snowy landscape of Hokkaido, YoonA’s ponytail hairstyle and her attractive bright smile that lightens up the surrounding atmosphere has garnered a lot of attention.

A representative of ‘Love Rain”s production company, Yoon’s Color said, “At the shooting in Hokkaido, the place where SeoJoon and HaNa were destined to meet for the first time, YoonA who transformed into HaNa of the present day (2012), also has to express herself as YoonHee of the 1970s, whose smiles were filled with shyness. These two characters differ greatly in terms of their charms. YoonA who plays the role of the cheerful and playful HaNa lightened up the atmosphere of the shooting set with her unique sense of liveliness”.

‘Love Rain’ will kick off its first broadcast on March 26th.

YoonA and Sistar’s Hyorin were picked as the no.1 and no.2 female idol stars that one would like to have a good memory with while eating cotton candies on White Day.

Through a survey carried out by ‘Sevenedu’ from February 25th to March 8th on 494 participants, YoonA took the no.1 spot after garnering 28% or 138 votes. Sistar’s Hyorin came in 2nd with 15% (76 votes).

On YoonA’s no.1 spot, a representative from Sevenedu said, “YoonA is always at the top among girl groups in terms of her appearance and she garners a lot of support from male fans. There are many men who wish to spend time with someone who has a slim figure and beautiful face like YoonA”.

After a highly successful year in 2011 of making the name ‘Girls’ Generation’ known to more diverse and widespread public around the world, March 9th is yet another special date celebrated by a group of people known as SONEs every year (as well as nine angels and their families of course).

As the first of the six ’89 babies to celebrate their 24th birthdays, Kim Taeyeon, the eldest of the group with the deceivingly never-changing baby face of hers (or looking like a ‘lost kid’ on occasions as some calls it), will turn a year ol… umm more mature in 2012 but I highly doubt if her dorkiness and ahjumma laugh will ever change.

While thinking of the girls’ activities in the previous year, one thing comes to mind immediately when you think specifically of our dear diva-with-childlike-complexion Ms. Kim. Peas.

Yes peas. Disney’s peas-in-a-pod to be exact. The moment Ms. Kim’s selcas with the big green peas, with the annoyingly cheerful expressions (which we grew to love, of course), surfaced online, SONEs worldwide went into a frenzy to locate these peas, which we eventually refer to fondly as dookongs or Taengpeas. And of course, needless to say, Taeyeon was continuously showered with gifts of dookongs wherever she went. (So, Disney, if you were wondering why the sales of peas shot up drastically in 2011, you now know who to thank).

In several interviews, the unique leader and spokesperson of the group (even though, officially, there are no leaders and the girls make joint decisions and all) wishes to advance into space after successfully taking over the world, making fans go like this —> o___O

We are still in the first quarter of the year but our dear fluffy leader has already tried her hand on MC-ing MBC’s Music Core with Tiffany and Seohyun (cringes at weekly dose of aegyo) and also acting in ‘Salamander Guru and the Gang’ with SHINee’s Minho. Despite being a cameo role in only one episode, I have no doubt that anyone who watched it would have gotten a deep impression (more cringing! But we love you ^^).

Also, our lovely kid leader’s professionalism also made it into the news several weeks ago, when she continued to MC professionally despite hurting her toe at the 1st GaOn Chart K-pop Awards ヽ(；▽；)ノ 

On a more serious side, Taeyeon’s powerful vocals continue to amaze with time, be it during solo performances or group songs (think of the high notes in ‘The Boys’). Back in January, Taeyeon went to Japan alone without her group members for the Athena Live Stage and her heartfelt singing of the soundtracks touched many hearts.

Yuri’s beautiful appearance that resembles Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 movie ‘Breakfast At Tiffany’s’ has become a hot discussion topic.

On March 7th, Yuri had a shooting session for SBS new Monday-Tuesday drama at a building in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. During yesterday’s shoot, Yuri was seen with a white towel around her head after coming out from a shower.

During the rehearsal, Lee HaeSook, the actress who plays the role of Lee JeHoon’s mother in the drama came up to Yuri saying, “There are methods to make the towels around your head look much prettier” and started fixing the towels on Yuri’s head.

After receiving Lee HaeSook’s help in fixing the towel wrap, Yuri’s ‘new look’ resembles Audrey Hepburn in the movie ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’. The production crews who were in full admiration of Yuri’s ‘transformation’ commented, “She is pretty regardless of what is being done on her”, “She looks just like Audrey Hepburn”.

Girls’ Generation’s 100 pyeong (about 3,600 sq.ft) hostel is receiving a lot of attention lately.

While lining up the ’2012 girl group ranking’ which was discussed on Mnet’s ‘Wide Entertainment News’ aired on February 27th, the program also introduces the ranking of the girl groups based on the environment of their accommodations. The production staff seemed to have made some studies on Girls’ Generation’s hostel as well.

Through the broadcast, it was revealed that Girls’ Generation’s luxurious hostel has a total area of about 100 pyeong (3,600 sq.ft) and the living room itself takes up nearly 30 pyeong (1080 sq.ft).

According to an individual from the property market estimated that the deposit for the girls’ hostel could be around 100 million Won and the monthly rental alone ranges from 4 to 6 million Won. In terms of trading in the property market, it could cost from around 800 to 900 million Won to even a few billion Won.

According to the broadcast, the reason why the Girls’ Generation members are staying in such a luxurious and expensive hostel is because of its 5-minute distance from SM Entertainment’s building and also the high level of security that maintains their privacy.

On SBS variety program ‘Strong Heart’ aired on March 6th, model Lee HyunI shared her experience on the power of Girls’ Generation when she was having her modeling activities in Italy.

In this episode, commenting on Seohyun’s hope of becoming like UN Secretary General Ban KiMoon, Lee HyunI said, “I think Girls’ Generation are more actively involved in foreign relations than UN Secretary General Ban KiMoon”.

She added, “When I was in Italy, a person came up to me and asked ‘Do you know this song?’, while Girls’ Generation’s ‘Hoot’ was being played. During the 8-hour shooting session, Girls’ Generation songs could be heard around the set. Listening to Girls’ Generation’s songs in Milan, Italy made me feel really proud”.

In the evening of March 6th, Sooyoung attended the congratulatory party for the launching of ‘MARNI at H&M’ at the H&M outlet in Noon Square, Myeongdong along with other celebrities such as Park SiYeon, Ko JoonHee, LeeTeuk, DongHae and EunHyuk of Super Junior, Jay Park, Se7en, etc.

During the recent recording of SBS ‘Strong Heart’, Seohyun revealed, “I was ‘forced’ to take a ‘Bomb Shot (method of consuming alcoholic cocktail)’”.

According to the production staff, Seohyun said, “We had a party after completing the Japan Tour. Together with the members, we some alcoholic drinks”.

Seohyun further elaborated, “Girls’ Generation members then prepared the bomb shot in a big glass”, much to the surprise of the participants on the show. She continued, “While having our drinks, we played a game and since I lost, I had to take the ‘Bomb Shot’ prepared by them as the penalty. It was my first time taking it”.

Seohyun’s first experience with the ‘Bomb Shot’ will be revealed in detail on SBS ‘Strong Heart’ which will be aired at 11pm KST on February 6th.

At 3pm KST on March 5th, Shinhwa’s ’14th Anniversary Comeback Press Conference’ was held at the M.Cube on the 3rd floor of Chungdam’s CGV in Shinsadong, Gangnam-gu. At the press conference, when Shinhwa was asked if there is any girl group they like, JunJin replied, “Girls’ Generation”.

JunJin added, “I’ve met Girls’ Generation members since they were still elementary school students. I felt as if I was their elder cousin. Thank you so much for growing up so beautifully. Especially Hyoyeon and Jessica, these two girls used to write and sent letters to us while we were having our activities back then. It’s great to know that things are working out well for them”.

MinWoo then said, “From the time when she was still a very young girl, Hyoyeon is really good at dancing. She was like the no.2 BoA. I also like 2NE1′s music. Since I’ve known the 4 members since they were very young, I do like them as well”.

Shinhwa will be meeting their fans at a 2-day concert entitled ‘The Return’ on March 24th and 25th at the Gymnastics Stadium in Seoul Olympic Garden. After being on hiatus for 4 years since their 9th album in 2008, Shinhwa will be making a comeback with their 10th album which contains 11 tracks.
